Welcome to Queen Mary’s High School  

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Queen Mary’s High School is and 11-18 selective, state grammar school with Academy status. We are one of the founding schools of the Mercian Trust. We admit girls in Years 7-11 and have a co-educational Sixth Form provision. Queen Mary’s High School is an outstanding school with a reputation for the highest academic standards, our consistently excellent GCSE and A-Level results speak for themselves. We have a long and established tradition of educating the thinkers, doers and change makers of the future and have been doing so successfully for over 125 years. We are a school which is proud of its heritage and tradition whilst simultaneously being committed to developing students and staff who are courageous, innovative and ready to take on a challenge.  I am exceptionally proud to be the Headteacher of a school where students flourish academically and socially in a vibrant, diverse and inclusive community. Our students are at the heart of all we do as a school and all members of our community are resolute in their commitment to ensuring that when our students leave us, they do so not only with academic success, but also the skills and personal attributes to navigate and embrace the challenges and opportunities of life beyond Queen Mary’s High School.  

Whilst academic rigour and challenge is a key part of our school culture, we understand that there is far more to school than the learning which takes place within the classroom. Students at Queen Mary’s High School benefit from and enjoy a wide range of extracurricular activities to complement their academic development. A real strength of the school is the quality of pastoral care. Students receive exceptional support and care from their Teachers, Form Tutors, Heads of Year, Heads of House and our pastoral support team. Students’ behaviours and attitudes are excellent, they are superb ambassadors for our school showing themselves to be keen, high motivated, creative and disciplined in all they do.
