Welcome from Chair of Governors

I'm very pleased that you have chosen to find out more about our unique school.  Queen Mary's High school is an amazing mix of traditional values with an ethos of support and challenge delivering a modern academic and cultural education.  I'm very proud to be the chair of the local governing body in an outstanding school which visitors often remark feels like a family.  Governors and the senior leadership team are committed to enabling our diverse students to realise their potential, preparing them for further studies, the world of work, and to contribute to their community.  Our enrichment programme offers a wide array of activities for students, particularly encouraging creativity, whilst our pastoral care provides support in an increasingly challenging world for young people.  As part of our wider ambitions, the school was a founder of the Mercian Trust, joining an extended family of schools  which provides enhanced opportunities for students as well as supporting our continuous improvement.  I would encourage parents to visit the school to feel how special it is.
