Alumni

We are delighted that so many of our former students and staff continue an association with Queen Mary’s High School long after they have walked out of the doors for the final time. Our former students are a key source of support to current students. The insights that they have gathered from their Post-18 destination, higher education and the world of work, are extremely valuable. We invite back alumnae for various events through the year. Through this support we have been able to provide mock interview practice, careers talks and insights into apprenticeship pathways. Our alumni network is also involved in a mentoring programme for the QMHS Sixth Form Scholars.

We welcome the invaluable support from our alumnae network. It may be years since you left school, but your experience, insights and the career path you have taken are of great interest to the staff and students who are here now.

Why not follow us on X (formally Twitter) to keep in touch and read the latest updates from the school.

Queen Mary’s High School for Girls Old Girls’ Club

The club was founded in the early part of the 20th century, with its first constitution drawn up in 1924. The club’s prime aim was to support & promote the education of young women, as at that time very few were able to access education.

The aims of the club are:

  • to promote & maintain contact between former pupils & the school;
  • to support & further the interests of the school.

There are 450 lifelong members of the club & we hold an annual meeting in school, where old girls attend from near & far (often visiting from abroad) to catch up with their old school pals. The highlight of the event is the tours of the school, where they can visit their old classrooms & reminisce with classmates about their time at school.

The club offers bursaries to help students moving forward with their careers e.g. volunteering projects & sponsors a number of prizes at school.

We do have a Facebook page with over 1500 members. If you want to join us & share your memories please use this link:
